A lot of our intranet engagements start with the client employees complaining “our intranet sucks.” And the client is always right. Good news: we can help.
We recognize the core issues; the “why” behind the problem. One client referred to their intranet as a garage for information – everything keeps going in there and piling up. It happens a lot. That’s why Prescient has a phased approach for assessing, planning and technology.
Hey, the first step to solving a problem, is recognizing the problem exists. And the process of improvement begins with assessment and planning. It is vital to understand what employees need and what senior management expects from the intranet. We assess the complete intranet, and all of the stakeholder requirements; we collect and make recommendations based on our extensive experience and best practices.
The planning subsequent planning phase guides clients through the remaining process, starting with a strategy that prioritizes business needs into action plans. Governance is included, and is the key to every successful intranet. Intranet governance modelling details the ownership model, management structure and roles and responsibilities for everyone evolved: from senior management, to content writers. Developing functional and content management plans ensure that requirements and strategy are appropriately reflected. And there is more: information architecture for usability; intranet user experience design for emphasis and action; change management and communications plans.
