The Social Intranet Report

The Social Intranet Study details the findings of a comprehensive study of more than 651 organizations on the prevalence and extent of use of social media on the corporate intranet (social media solely for employees). Conducted by Prescient Digital Media, the Social Intranet Report reveals how intranet 2.0 tools are being used in organizations, and how extensive and successful these tools have been to date.

Social media is taking the intranet by storm, but many are confused as to how best to use social media. While a majority of organizations are using or at least experimenting with social media on the corporate intranet, the success rate and adoption has been underwhelming.

The study addresses several important topics including:

  • New topics such as satisfaction rates with content, design, search, IA and usability, governance, mobile access and more.

  • The percentage of organizations that consider their intranet to be a “social intranet”.

  • The types of Intranet 2.0 tools and the extent they are being used in organizations today.

  • The cost of implementing Intranet 2.0 tools.

  • Barriers preventing organizations from implementing Intranet 2.0 tools.

  • Employee and executive satisfaction with Intranet 2.0 tools.

  • Intranet technology solutions vs. industry and organization size.

  • Blog and wiki deployment vs. industry and organization size.
